AUSTRALIAN golfer Robert Allenby allegedly ran up a $A4,324 bar tab at a Honolulu strip club the night he claims he was bashed, robbed and abducted.

Honolulu detectives continue to investigate what happened to Allenby on the evening of January 16.

GolfChannel.com reported it had interviewed multiple witnesses and retraced Allenby's steps after he had dinner with friends at the Amuse Wine Bar in downtown Honolulu.

After Allenby left the bar he went to Club Femme Nu, described as an adult entertainment club wedged between a tattoo parlour and a Korean restaurant, GolfChannel.com reported, citing multiple sources who were working at the premises.

Allenby was there until around midnight with "a group of friends" and ran up a $A4,324 bar tab, according to the report.

Allenby suffered facial cuts and bruising to his face and claimed he was hit in the face with a fist or baseball bat and robbed.

Several homeless people have now come forward with their separate versions of what they saw when they found Allenby on the footpath after the alleged attack.

One homeless man, Toa Kaili says Allenby later fell and hit his face on a lava rock.

Mr Kaili said he first noticed Allenby passed out on the footpath only a block away.

It took him 10 minutes to wake him and another eight minutes for Allenby to stand.

"He was beyond tipsy. This man was blitzed," he said.

"He then started saying, 'Where's the other guy? You gave him the keys; to get the keys.' I was like 'Wooh, this dude is beyond having drinks'."

He said Allenby then turned on him and his friend, Chris, accusing them of robbery after realising his phone and wallet were missing.

An angry Mr Kaili then left.

Two-and-a-half hours later, in the same spot, he again found Allenby, who did not recognise him: "He told us some punks robbed him."

Mr Kaili says Allenby soon again became convinced he and his friend were robbers, and began searching his bag.

"He kept on saying, 'You know who I am'. I didn't care because to me he was a guy passed out on the street and I was trying to help him."

Mr Kaili said Allenby threw a punch but missed. He left, but his friend stayed with Allenby.

Returning 30 minutes later, this time he found Allenby wiping blood off his face.

Aussie golfer Robert Allenby says he is thankful to be alive after being bashed and abducted in Hawaii, likening his experience to the movie blockbuster 'Taken'.

Another, Chris Khamis, said he did not see anyone beat Allenby and claimed the golfer kept repeating he was a millionaire and waved around his platinum credit card.

"It was his stupidity," Khamis told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

"(Allenby) passed out and hit his head.

"I was there. Nobody pushed him out of a car." Khamis also alleged Allenby had been at a strip club to get some "action".

Allenby said he was at a wine bar, became separated from friends, then was drugged or beaten unconscious, robbed, tossed in the boot of a car and dumped at a park 10km away.

Homeless woman Charade Keane disputed Allenby's story, telling reporters she found him bloody and dazed not far from the wine bar.

Allenby recently met with Ms Keane and gave her a $1000 reward for saving his life.

Honolulu detectives have been collecting security footage of the area in an attempt to piece together Allenby's movements and to identify who used his credit cards.

A suspect in Robert Allenby's alleged assault has been seen on CCTV footage using the golfer's credit card.

"The incident involving Mr Allenby continues to be classified as a second-degree robbery and fraudulent use of credit card," Honolulu police spokesman Michelle Yu said.

"No arrest has been made." Allenby was in Hawaii to compete in the PGA Tour's Sony Open.

Allenby may shed more light when he holds a scheduled press conference on Tuesday in Phoenix, Arizona, the site of the next PGA Tour event.
