THE popular Australian TV show Hey Hey It's Saturday is making a comeback online, and Daryl Somers' announcement has crashed its new website.
The announcement was made on A Current Affair that the iconic show would be returning to www.HeyHey.tv, where fans could log on and watch episodes of the show.
Somers described the move to put the show online as "a new era of the show".

"On Facebook there's something like 644,000 people saying when are you coming back," he said.

"Online it's a whole new ball game."
Moments after the new future of the show was revealed the website appeared to crash, and fans took to Twitter and the Hey Hey it's Saturday Facebook page expressing their excitement and frustration with logging on.
Somers and Plucka Duck took viewers into the engine room of his new online site, where he has bought old video machines to help bring footage from the show to the web.
But he also said they were going to do some "current stuff" as well for fans.

Somers said that depending on how well fans embrace the show online, there could be more in store for it and its cast including Plucka, Red Symons, Livinia Nixon, Ossie Ostrich, Dickie Knee and more.
"If people embrace the website, we'll certainly look at doing live shows," he said.
Hey Hey It's Saturday was a long-running variety television program on Australian TV.
It initially ran for 27 years, debuting on the Nine Network in 1971 and broadcasted its last episode on November 20, 1999.
