AS the last episode looms, Offspring fans are bracing themselves for another season finale fraught with emotional farewells.
While it's unlikely to top last season's heart-splintering end (we still can't bring ourselves to utter the P word) it's going to be a biggy, particularly given the future of our favourite Aussie drama is still uncertain.
Thousands will be disappointed if Ten doesn't give Offspring the green light for season six, but we think we can survive it — just — and only if these nine essential things happen during tonight's finale.
1. Billie will finally fall pregnant: The eldest Proudman sibling has made no secret of her desire to procreate. In fact a desire for kids, along with that disastrous fling in season four, was one of the reasons behind her crumbling marriage to Mick. But Mick's inability to reproduce means any potential bub will probably be the result of Billie's ill-fated romance with Lawrence.

2. Lawrence will meet some hot, young thing: No one that good looking, grounded and oh-so buff should be unlucky in love. We're rooting for the wounded counsellor to find a lady, sans Proudman baggage. Could it be Ange?

3. Cherie and Clegg will finally get their act together: Their on-again, off-again relationship is as horrible to watch as their love making. But let's face it, they're entertaining and totally meant for each other.

4. Geraldine will figure out what she wants (and maybe lay off the booze): The Proudman matriarch looks as though she might be back on with Darcy but she's also itching to move out of the family home. Geraldine needs to PUT THE WINE GLASS DOWN. She did just donate part of her liver, after all.

5. Darcy needs to keep his pants on: The illustrious Proudman leader, who has never been faithful to his long-suffering wife Geraldine, has finally realised she is the love of his life. Four kids later — including one child with Cherie — he knows where his heart lies, let's hope it stays that way.
6. Billie has to stay put: Last week's episode ended with the news that Billie would be moving to London with Mick. But where will that leave Nina who relies on her sister more than anything else?

7. Two-timing Thomas needs to disappear: The scumbag masquerading as Nina's knight in shining armour should just skulk away, back to his seemingly happy marriage and his adorable newborn baby, never to be seen of again. These two were awkward to watch anyway.
8. #teamleo: This one has us stumped. Should they, or shouldn't they? In some sense, we want Nina and Leo to be together because they seem to have a real connection. But then again, he's been the first seemingly normal guy in her life — no baggage, no lies, just a rock solid friend. Maybe Leo should permanently remain in the friend basket where Nina first stuffed him after that awkward almost-one night stand.

9. One last Patrick sighting: We need to see Patrick and Nina together for one last time. Just once. That's all we ask.
