SARAH Todd is back on MasterChef Australia, and her return to the reality TV show has social media fans of the show divided.

The 27-year-old model has been given a second chance after winning a Mystery Box challenge against 13 other previously-eliminated contestants on the Channel 10 cooking show.

Sarah, who made headlines with a recent topless photo shoot, was one of the favourites to win this year's MasterChef but was eliminated a fortnight ago after plating up raw chicken roulade.

Sarah had spent three months away from fiancee Devinder and three-year-old son Phoenix, both in London, in the lead-up to her elimination.

Devinder and Phoenix have flown to Melbourne to be at Sarah's side for the rest of the competition.

"It is massive to be given a second chance," Sarah says. "I was missing my family and it was affecting my cooking (when eliminated). Now I am rejuvenated. I've got nothing to lose."

The announcement of Sarah's return has shocked some social media fans of the show, who have claimed she was allowed to return because of her looks.

Others were thrilled she got another opportunity.

Contestants were presented with two options — to spend 60 minutes creating a dish using the ingredients that got them eliminated or 30 minutes replicating their best dish in the competition.

Sarah plated up against Georgia, Brendan, Deepali, Nicole, Nick, Emily, Scott, Sean, Steven, Rachael, Sam, Byron and Tash.

Sean chose the ingredients from the dish that saw him eliminated but this time he focused on making the produce the star. He put together a simple Garlic and Thyme Prawns with Herb Salad.

Judges Matt Preston, George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan were impressed, making it one of the Top 5 dishes of the day.

Brendan chose to cook the exact same dish that saw him eliminated — Chinese Pork Loin with Pickled Mushrooms and Wing Bean Salad. He nailed every element and made the Top 5.

Rachael also chose to make the dish that saw her eliminated. She made the Top 5 with a perfect version of Saltbush Encrusted Pork with Native Greens.

Byron wasn't so lucky. He used the ingredients from Marco Pierre White's Roast Pigeon, the dish that had him eliminated. The result was over-complicated and difficult to eat.

Sarah and Georgia each decided to make chicken roulade. Sarah cooked her elimination dish of Stuffed Chicken Roulade with Carrot Puree and Jus. Georgia created something new from her elimination ingredients — Chicken Roulade with Moroccan Rice and Fig Jam. They both made the Top 5.

Nick chose a dessert, plating up a White Chocolate Ganache with a Hazelnut Sponge and Citrus Crumble. Unfortunately the sponge was too dense.

Emily faltered with her Fish Head Stuffed Longan Fruit with Sweet, Hot and Sour sauce, with the judges unable to taste her dish.

Brendan, Sean and Rachael were complimented on their improvement since their initial elimination but the result came down to Rachael versus Georgia.

The judges announced that the combination of Sarah's apple stuffing and the complexity of her gravy lifted her dish to another level, earning her place back in the competition.

"For me, this challenge was about proving to myself and the judges that I could cook a great dish and it was just one thing that sent me home last time. I am really proud of the result.

"To win it is massive."
