Game of Thrones extended sneak peak
GAME of Thrones star Kit Harington is no stranger to the regular massacres on the cult show. What he doesn't understand, he says, is why viewers don't expect it.
This is his first-person piece.
Going into this season, Jon and Ygritte (Rose Leslie) had had a bitter break-up. She's (Leslie) a method actress so she hates me at the moment ... I'm joking, I'm joking.
Game of Thrones (GoT) is a pretty brutal world, and love is no different in it.
Jon had to do what he did and I think she felt utterly tricked and duped and that's why she hunted him down and shot him with arrows.
Jon is in a very damaged place right now.
It's not just Ygritte that he is hurting from. He's lost his love, but also news has reached him that his brother is dead and that the Starks essentially are no more.
Basically he's lost his family, as well as his one love.
All he has left, really, are those Brothers of the Night's Watch. That's what he's living for and because of that he's turning into a commander.
It's very dangerous and he knows that the Wildlings are going to attack the Wall so he's got a job to do.

I hadn't read the books (the show is based on). I read them after I got the part.
I watch all the episodes. I watch them once, and I watch them on my own.
I loved the Red Wedding (the scene in season three which killed three central cast). I thought they really nailed it.
I'm intrigued by the viewer reaction to things like Red Wedding. I mean, it was the same after season one with Ned Stark's death.
I don't know why people don't expect it by now. I mean come on, this is how GoT works – we kill people – that's what we do.
I think a lot of people root for Jon Snow because he's a good person and you want a good person to rule over everyone else. Which means he's not safe at all.
We've established that goodies don't necessarily win here.
People always think that Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) will be on the throne at the end or Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) or Jon or someone, and I don't know why it wouldn't be Littlefinger (Aiden Gillen) or Varys (Conleth Hill).
That's the sense of realism brought to the show. It's not always the good people on thrones it's the Robert Mugabes or Kim Jong-uns of the world who sometimes end up there."
